If you are unfamiliar with the term, it is a technology which allows upload speeds to increase up to about 2.75Mbps – more than double the current upload speed of ADSL2+. You do require an Annex M capable modem to get the increased upload speeds.

Many of the enquiries are in relation to TPG and Exetel and whether they offer Annex M on their plans. The current answer is that they don’t. We will of course update you as they introduce Annex M, but we are not guessing that this will happen any time soon.

Annex M Providers

The only current providers of Annex M from the major Naked DSL suppliers are:

Internode

iinet

They only supply Annex M on Business Plans, not on any residential plan.

iinet Naked DSL plans for Business start at $84.95 per month including 10GB of data allowance. The data can be used any time and comes with a Static IP, which are important features for business.

Internode also offers a Static IP address on its business plans. You can start the Internode sign up process here. You can quickly go through the first page of the process to see all the Internode Business Plans.

Neither iinet or Internode charge an ongoing fee for having Annex M and the faster upload speeds. It doesn’t cost anything to add Annex M with Internode, but there is a once off $49 activation fee with iinet. But $49 is fairly easily forgotten in the set up costs if iinet is the better option for you. They do have far more exchanges than Internode and you will need to be connected directly to an Internode exchange (not via Optus) to get Annex M.
