Free Wireless Internet Available At The MCG

by Luke on April 8, 2009

Free Wi-Fi at the MCGThis doesn’t have much to do with Naked DSL, except that it’s been announced by one of the most propular Naked DSL providers. Internode is the preferred Internet Service Provider of the MCG and as part of that agreement have set up Wi-Fi – wireless internet that can be accessed by your wireless capable laptop, PDA, mobile phone or other device.

Not every fan is going to use it at the footy or the cricket, but it’s also for teams, administrators and corporate functions. Free Wi-Fi will make the MCG an even more attractive and functional venue.

How Much Is It?

Free for everyone :-D

How To Log On

Here are the instructions from Internode:

  • Go to an area near the location of the hotspot (in this case the MCG).
  • Look in your wireless network settings or scan for wireless networks and select the network “Internode”
  • If you do not see the network name “Internode” you may need to move to a different location, you may not be close enough to the hotspot.
  • Open your web browser and the login page should appear, if not, when you navigate to a website, you’ll be automatically redirected to the login page.
  • Enter your login details or click Guest Login if applicable.
  • You can now browse the Internet.

How To Express Your Gratitude to Internode

Sign up with one of their Naked DSL or ADSL2+ plans of course! Click here to view the Internode Naked DSL Plans.

I think it’s fantastic to see an ISP using its marketing and advertising budget to show its technical capabilities and give a great, free service to people. Far better use of marketing funds than some over-priced ad in a newspaper.
